ZA True White Instant Brightener SPF 30

This ZA product was recently launched
islandwide, but when I finished my current sunscreen,
I decided to give this one a shot,
I could not find it at 2 Watsons outlet,
one was Bugis and the other is Takashimaya...
UNBELIEVABLE!!!

But when I headed to Tiong Bahru Plaza on Monday,
I found it. And had to buy it immediately.
I have only been a recent convert to sunscreens.
Yes, it sounds really bad,
esp since I am so into beauty and skincare
yet.... I totally hated slapping on sunscreen.
Its simply because the past generation of suncreens
are WAY TOO OILY
causing my makeup to slide off
like literally, automatic procedure
so I gave up on it and stuck to
merely foundation with light SPF in it.

BUT THOSE ARE NOT,
I repeat, NOT sufficient.
Not if you are keen to ensure
your skin stays milky fair, without freckles,
age spots, wrinkles etc...
so the sun's rays will certainly expediate the entire process
FREE OF CHARGE!!

So, we need at least
SPF 30 and above but being kiasu...
I have tried brands with SPF 40 and 50 as well.
I will review those in due course,
stay tuned for more.
In my year long quest for great sunscreens,
esp since age will start to play a part in future,
I am using Za's right now.

It gives me the best of both worlds.
Milky fair even complexion that glows
and a rosy hue that makes my skin look
almost alabaster and telling the world
that I have taken my vitamins
all for a mere SGD$15.90.
It is the cheapest of the lot that I have used.

Yet it produces exceptional results
so, I am sticking to this for a while
unless the formula changes.

I am utterly in love with my Za Instant Brightener.
Please go and get yours today!
My complexion does not require foundation
on usual work days anymore since discovering this
so, liquid foundations are saved for special occassions.
I will post pictures of me in it later.
Have a great long weekend!!!

REVIEW:
Will I buy this again: Certainly.
Ease of use: Just squeeze a 10cents size coin onto palm
and blend all over face and neck. Simple as that.
You can opt to dust loose powder on your face thereafter.
Rating: 10/10

Elizabeth Arden's Gold Capsules

One of the World's Most Beautiful Women
Ms. Catherine Zeta-Jones has endosed this product
for years now and her complexion is
a testimony to what it does for skin.

This tiny little capsule
where you just need to twist and pull the nib off
and literally, liquid gold will ooz out
as it comes into contact with your skin,
massage it... enjoy the sans fragrance lightness
as skin laps it up hungrily.

And after a mere 2 mins or less,
you will appear well-rested,
radiant and makeup will stay on better...
my pores appeared smaller.

I loved what it does for me
especially since I have not been
sleeping early these days
due to the workload I am handling.
This tiny capsule is my cheat sheet to:
1) a well-rested complexion
2) that glows!!

Moisturizers aren't needed if you use this,
just eye cream and this.
That's all you need.

REVIEW:
Would I Buy this Again: Yes, only at Changi Airport..
as it costs only SGD$20
Rating: 8/10
Ease of Use: Can be tricky to twist the top off

Sisley Makeup Remover

I saw this being recommended by
a highly sought after makeup artist
and decided to expand upon my Sisley Collection
so I went to Metro and grabbed a bottle.

They have 2 versions for the Milk Base remover
Sage and White Lily.
SAGE is meant for Combination skin
but it stinks.... smelling like raw veggies.
WAY too Raw!!

I love how lightly fragrant
the White Lily one is.
The scent is a plus but the
texture is too thick
so, two pumps is enough for the entire
face and neck!!!
White Lily is meant for normal to dry skin.

It does its job.
Cleansing the face well
ridding it of all the makeup
thoroughly!

But it is unexciting.
In terms of packaging.
In terms of lightness and greasiness.
But this is my first bottle,
I am only halfway thru it.

Usage wise, just pump on hands and spread evenly
all over your face, careful not to get product into eyes.
Then wash off.

REVIEW:
Will I Buy this Again: No.
Ease of Use: Simple. As above.
Rating: 7/10

L'Oreal White Perfect Facial Foam Cleanser

Today I will be looking into cleansing of the face.
We should all probably know by now,
that cleaning our face and ridding it daily
of sebum and whatever dust and bacteria
that we come into contact with,
helps our skin stay healthy, unclogged and smooth
so that we will appear groomed and neat.

I am sure none of us want pimples
or little bumps on our faces,
even if we cannot have air-brushed
supermodel skin texture or those as
smooth as a baby's bottom,
we would at least hope,
to look normal. With clean fresh skin.

So, L'oreal developed this whitening cleanser
just for the Asia market.
As Asian girls are nuts about ensuring their skin
stays as fair or milky white as possible.
The sun is the bane of their existence,
in general. Haha!
So Asian chicks prefer to "be vampires"
in that sense (pun intended).

This cleanser is super easy on the pocket
costing less than SGD$5.00,
depending on where you purchase it and how much you use
it will last you for around 2 months,
if you use it daily for both AM and PM usage.

Plus, it really whitens.
If you use it religiously.
Of cos freckles will whiten to an extent.
But it will not disappear.
And overall,
your skin will feel very clean,
almost squeaky clean
minus any 'drying' effect.
The entire neck and face
will not have off-balance patches
of varying skin tone,
instead, skin will be balanced and even.
Unless you got white spots,
then you cannot blame the product lar.

And oh yes, when I cleanse my face,
I cleanse my neck too,
it gives even-colour... just a tip!
And this does not have much fragrance,
good for those with sensitive skin.

REVIEW:
Would I buy this again: High Chance as it is cheap
Ease of Use: No brainer
Rating/ Live Up to Its Claims: 7 /10

Cyber Colours Eye Makeup Remover

I met up with one of my close gfs for lunch
She said she suspected I am writing the new Beauty blog
and I laughed in jest before admitting to it.

Then she launched into beauty talk mode
telling me about 3 or 4 different products that
she has been using and how well they worked for her
and rating it, akin to my writing style,
so I said, ok, some of the products
that she mentioned,
I also once used them before and I shall review them
in here, just to be fair to my readers..
I will at least need to try the samples
or have used the products before I place them
here and give my feedback.

Thus I selected the Cyber Colours Eye Makeup Remover
to review as I used it before.

Similar to the Lancome Bi-Facil remover,
you will need to shake the blue and white portion
to mix them together before placing 3 to 4 drops
of the mixture onto moisten cotton pads
and leave it on your eyes for a mere 3 secs
and swipe to remove all traces of eye makeup
from false eyelash glue to liners to glitter shadows.
Plus it is cheap, when on sale for the small 50ml bottle
it is only $1.95 each and the large one is $8.90.

But the flip side is, as the opening of their bottle is big,
I tend to use this up fast
and I can finish like 6 big bottles in 2.5months
which costs slightly more than the Lancome one
in the long run.
But SaSa's in house brand - Cyber Colours,
does a good job and if on sale, makes it worthwhile
to stock up, cos that's when it will be cheaper than Bi-Facil!
My gf also mentioned if some of the product seeps
into your eyes by accident, it stings a little.
And I don't like that. So contact lens users,
please remove contact lenses before using.
Lancome's Bi-Facils does not have that issue at all.

REVIEW:
Ease of Use: Simple. Use as directed above.
Will I buy it again: Only when on sale and I am short of Eye Removers
Rating: from me - 6/10 and from my gf - 9.5/10

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover

I am so excitied writing about this product which
I think is THE Absolute Best Eye Makeup Remover
I have ever used,
it maybe dual oil and water base
but it has blue cornflower
and will not cause milla seeds around the delicate
skin around the eyes.

And the large 125ml bottle will last me
for at least 2.5 months,
and that is with me using it everyday
esp when I work, cause I makeup to head to work.

A large 125ml costs SGD$48
which is worthwhile.
However, I will try and get mine from DFS.
Costs much lesser.

All you need are some square cotton pads
damp the pads and then pour 2 to 3 drops
of the bi-facil in the middle
hold for 3 seconds and wipe
and ALL waterproof and stubborn eye glue
(for false eyelashes)
and shadows etc will come off...
just like that. For each eye.

Review:
Will I buy this again: YES!!! Am on my fourth bottle.
Ease of Use: Yup, very easy, just follow my steps above.
Effectiveness: 10/10

(the Humble) Hazeline Snow Moisturising Cream

The Above Picture
shows the old packaging that I use to
see lying around my Godma's place.
This one "magic" bottle packs in
simple ingredients that hydrate
and provide a suppleness for your skin
and it has been rumoured that
Hazeline snow, cures little outbreaks of pimples.
Not the acne type
but the small ones due to stress
and monthly hormonal changes.

Below is the New and Improved packaging
which I just got for a mere SGD$2.50
when I was out shopping for Shampoo
but chanced upon this instead.

What's great is the way
the cream instantly gets absorbed into your skin
which is something I always look out for
and would love
but the smell can be overpowering,
reminding me of some powder
and the texture of the white cream is somehow hard
and a tad messy when you try applying it
with your fingers onto your face
but for the cheap price
its worth looking into.

Plus, the cream will eventually
appear to mattify your skin
and helps your powder stay on better.

NEW PACKAGING!!

A very very humble cream
that has stood the test of time.
Which has the glacier waters of the alps
included in it. Glacier water = Purity + minerals.
Yet affordable for all
who want to do the bare minimum level
of care for their skin.
Even the students and retirees can
indulge in a bottle or two!

Would I Buy this Again: Maybe
Ease of Use: Easy Peasy.

Estee Lauder's Advance Night Repair & Advance Night Repair Whitening

I initially tried the Advanced Night Repair
when the Improved formula came on the market
it does what it claims...
like calming the skin, removing irritation,
improves the skin texture and rids redness
around the nose area
plaster that with a good dose of 8 hours of rest
and you will soon find your skin improved,
sort of in a detox manner,
as if you really went for a spa holiday
and came back rejuvenated and well-rested.

Both bottles are brown,
the only way to differentiate is
to read the text carefully before paying at the cashier's
and the whitening version
allows one to see that the content inside
is pure white.
Whereas the original version
is more fluid and brownish in colour.

When I decided to buy my second bottle,
I was recommended by the airport staff to
give the whitening version of this same
stellar performing skin detox in a bottle
a try and I did.
It costs me SGD$110 for the largest size bottle
and they were having a promotion
moreover, the whitening version, was not
available islandwide then (a year back)
and I still have a little of the product left
Surprise surprise...
it actually lasts that long!!!

But I interchange the use of my products
as I suscribe to the notion
that skin should not get use to one particular range
or product OR ELSE, it will lose its effectiveness
in the long run, so I mix and match
and note what works.

The whitening formula in this Advanced Night Repair
does nothing much for me,
it does not lighten my freckles
nor really lighten my skin tone.
But the detox and calming portion
worked like a charm,
even better than the Original version.

This is because the whitening version
is less sticky than the original
and gets absorbed way faster
so you can actually slap on
your other products shortly after
and head into dreamland sooner.

Review:
Will i Buy this Again: Yes (only whitening version)
Advance Night Repair Original: 7 /10
Advance Night Repair Whitening Version: 8.5/10
Packaging: 7/10
Ease of Use: Extremely Easy. Fuss Free.

Clinique's New Chubby Sticks

Unbelievable!!!
I went scouring almost throughout the island
searching for a nude shade lippy.
If you do not know what nude color is,
it is close to the color on the back of your hand
and I cannot find one that is
not too light and not too brown-ish
till I saw in Her World magazine that day,
the all new Clinique Chubby Lipsticks.

They are suppose to be really good for you.
Filled with shea butter and mango
tastes ok and not too filled with chemicals
(even though they are).
I got myself a stick at SGD$26.00
over at Robinsons, Raffles City.
It seems the fat lil' chubby sticks
are SO POPULAR that ALL shades are sold out
except for Pink 06 Woppin' Watermelon.

Which, lucky for me, I love pink.
It was a sweet shade, offering just a tint
of sheer pink and loads of gloss,
great for those who love to
apply color without the aid of a mirror.

There is no strong smell
the gloss makes your lips look
so youthful and oh-so kissable.
Plus, the price is friendly on the pocket
and you need not sharpen it,
just twist and apply.
The only downside is
stocks will only be in by month end
for all the other 3 colours.

Verdict:
Color - 6/10
Ease of Use - V. Easy (Idiot Proof in fact)
Glossiness - 8.5/10
Will i Buy it again - Yes!!!
