What I Use On A Daily Basis - Revlon Waterproof Eyeliner Auto Pencil

Hello People...
As I muster the strength for one last thinking thing of the day
before I KO due to my mountain of medication
(yes, I am still sick and I don't feel pretty.. )

Thought I share with you on what I use on a daily basis...

REVLON...
Sounds old? ? ?
Yeah, I thought so too when I first tried it
I was skeptical
but even the skeptic in me was surprised,
in a good way
by how easy it was to handle the product
and you need not even sharpen the baby!

All you need to do is turn it,
so that the amount you need surfaces
and just line the top of your lashes with this
as it has kohl in it, lining your eyelids is a breeze,
plus it is waterproof
and it gives me enough intensity
and it's cheap, I usually buy mine
during sale, at $13.90 per stick
and each stick lasts 2.5 to 3 months
depending on the thickness that I draw
everyday.

See above, that's the amount used for both eyes if you draw thick lines
if not, it is lesser.

And I love how any normal eye makeup remover will get rid of it
in one swipe.

So yeah, I will use this everyday, esp more so now that I am sick,
it sorts of acts as a cover for the red / dying / dark circles that
came along with this virus.... I mean, how to sleep well when
the cough can awaken you from your sleep, right?

Hope you will love this baby as much as I do.

Rating: 5/5
Will I buy this again: What's there not to love... of cos!
Ease of Use: Its like colouring, take pencil and draw.

Relaxing Lavender as Purifiying Hand Gel??

Hello Gorgeous People...
Hope your weekend went Wayyyy better than mine.
I spent mine mostly in bed with friends like Cough, Flu and Sore Throat
accompanying me, which is so pathetic,
but it was marching orders given by my hubs, so no choice.

Anyways, this period saw me using a fair bit more than the
usual hand sanitizer...
you know, those we all started to go crazy about
after the spread of the crazy H1N1 virus
a couple of years back?? Remember?

So I always keep a bottle with me,
in the office, in my handbag...
and ensure that if I did not have access to
soap and clean water to wash my hands,
the sanitizer is going to do the job!

So... I am in pursuit of good hand gels / sanitizers,
one that really kills 99.999999999% of germs
and MOISTURISES my hands...
mind you, that wrinkles form the fastest on hands and neck
so we really Must take extra care of these areas.

I used to like another brand
that had the above 2 functions
BUT I recently fell in love with this...

Yup!
This one is from Provence France,
I expected to pay a lot for it, like more than $20
but ended up, the price was $14 only.

I know, some of you are like...
"You siao ah, $14 still say ONLY!"

BUT hang on,
let me tell you why,
if you work in an air-conditioned environment,
like most of us do, and we all know that hand sanitizers
only need a drop,
so a little goes a long way...
PLUS, this has relaxing LAVANDER scent in it
totally moisturises your hands
and leaves a delicate scent that soothes
unlike the stinky and dry type of hand gels around.

I am still on my first bottle.
And Xmas is round the corner,
L'Occitane does have sale...
so pick one up for yourself or your loved ones.
Spare them the usual stink the usual hand gels have,
show a little more generousity!

p/S: it is transparent & absorbs way faster than any other gels I used.

Rating: 5/5
Will I Buy it Again: Yes
Ease of Use: Easy.

Bourjois Liner Effect... Magical Effects!

Hello Lazy Dolls....
Ok, this post is supposedly meant for lazy people, like me
who loves products that do more for you
so that you can cut down on time
and spend those extra time on things you rather do,
like sleep or watch TV :)

Anyways, this Bourjois <<Liner>> Effect Mascara is dope!
As it does give you a light eyeliner effect after applying
without you actually drawing your eyeliner...
how great is this invention??
Told You right? Lazy people need apply.

Why?

Cos of the brush head.... SEE!!!
Super good for fanning out your lashes
ensuring your lashes curl
AND the best part is,
You can use it upright, so that your lashes will "stand up"
giving you the doll-like look
if you are into the Japanese / Taiwanese cutie phase.

They have many colours to choose from,
purple, blue, green, brown other than safe black...
and the brush has 2 sides, one for upper lashes (the taller bristles),
the other is for lower lashes (the shorter bristles).
PLUS! It is water proof.
Tested and proven, by yours truly.

Can consider for wedding day (in case u cry)
or for the coming Xmas... PARTY!!!

Would I Buy this Baby again: YES!
Where to Buy: Selected Watsons (the bigger ones) $23.95
Rating: 8/10 & simple to use

Biore UV Milk (SPF 50)

Recently I have gotten a magazine and along came with it a sample size
of a brand of sunscreen from a brand, quite long forgotten,
Biore used to be very popular in the 80's and early 90's
here in SG but thereafter lost its market share and of course
her following of people.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they have come up
with sunscreens and the best part is, the SPF is 50.
So i took this bottle, shaked it before applying it onto my face,
this is like the 3rd or 4th brand of sunscreen that I have tried
since my foray and love for suncreens developed.

The texture, because it was sample size,
came out thick despite the vigourous shaking
and when I applied on my skin, it did spread quite easily
but it also gave the feel of being a tad thicker than the usual tinted sunscreens
so I tested it by being out for 12 hours.
Both under the sun and in the office.

It did its job but did not blow my socks off.
Simply put, i applied powder straight after,
as I wanted light makeup that day...
the powder had patches by mid-day
so my face appeared wonky.
I had to tissue off the patches,
and touch up the powder, thank heavens for SPF powders!

I am not too sure if its my skin condition that day
as my period is coming and caused the changes
that does not allow the product to stay on as it should
or it really was the product, in any case, I was given
a full size bottle as a farewell gift as I was leaving the firm.

This time, there was a shaker ball in the bottle,
the mix came out better thou still thick
but nevertheless, it did a better job this time,
at least my powder did not run.

I got the pink one and it is meant to give you a glow.
The purple one is for even face colour
Blue one is to balance the redness
White is for whitening.

I have left the bottle aside since, I will try it again soon,
as I am half hearted about this brand
though i am more skewed towards the "blah" side.

I am into liquid foundations again.
That will be in another post.
Catch you all soon!

Rating: 6/10 Stars
Ease of Use: Pretty straightforward
Would I buy it again: Unsure... KIV.

Home Remedy - Honey

Hey All,

Today's post is all about an au natural remedy
good for both the body and the face.
It is easily found in a lot of supermarts and specialty stalls
I am talking about HONEY.

It can be the run of the mill types
the cheap ones from the shelves of the supermarts
costing only a mere $5 or the better ones
marked with Manuka (common) or the ones with
Lavender, or Rose or whatever possible suitable combination.

But the ones I am referring to are the
$5 to $30 range types that will do a good enough job
both good for the body - serving as a slick soothing remedy to itchy throats
and as a preventive measure when you are falling sick and to speed up
the recovery process....
as well as a facial scrub...
honey acts as a softener for the skin,
just add sugar granules (any packet of SIS sugar will do,
the more refine ones are gentler on skin)
mix it with 2 parts honey and one macdonald's pack of sugar
mix it with your clean hands before you apply on the face,
then place it on your cheeks, forehead, chin areas and rub gently
avoiding eyes and the sides near the ears.

Rub for just a minute or less,
covering all visible parts of your face
then wash off thoroughly
making sure the honey all comes off
together with the sugar.
These 2 simple "raw materials" are found
in almost all kitchens... yet
what it does, is give you clean, soft and firm skin.

If you find the texture hard to move along your face,
add a few drops of water in the mix, not too much,
just 4 to 7 drops, depending on the thickness of the honey you buy
those off the shelves costing just $5 need not add water,
as they are already diluted.

Just give it a try, just wash off throughly
it is a cheap and good remedy!

Za Eye Makeup (NEW!)

Hey Girls....
I took a super long break from blogging
as something happened at home
and needed my time. (Dad's very sick)
Hope you understand.
I will be back on this everyday (almost)
anyways, this period also saw me trying out new products
for both skin and makeup
plus I went South Korea
so the facial masks haul was like
a truckload!!!

You see the image above,
saucy right? Today I will be reviewing on all
4 of the fabulous mascaras that ZA has newly launched
as well as the automatic Pencil Eyeliner.

ZA has come up with a pretty decent Mascara Base (white)
that does an OK job at lengthening and curling (a tad)
your eye lashes, prepping them for any mascara to come actually
but I used it in conjunction with ZA's latest trio;

Volume -
said to give you Va VA VOOM lashes, which I don't really like
as it is clumpy if used alone.
Long -
said to give you extra long, to die for doe-eyed peepers
which is so friggin' TRUE!! I love how the brush curves
and allows you to reach those sparse tiny lashes
Wide Eyes -
said to give you a dolly watery-eye look but I prefer using this
on my lower lashes only, for the top, I combined long and volume
to give the desired "falsies" effect as my lashes are already
quite long. The Wide Eye brush is like a comb
it really catches onto every strand of your lower lash
and thickens it by x3 so you look like some hot Jap babe (easily).

The picture above depicts LONG's brush.

As for the other products like the Eye Makeup Remover,
I do not really like it much, even though it does the job,
simply because it is quite oily,
and I have normal to combination skin
yet this baby above is quite heavy on the oil
leaving a film of oil there, thankfully I use this before shower
so, it does get wash off easily,
just that, if you wear contacts
it does accumulate like a film of "blurry" residue behind
WHICH I DON'T LIKE... it is Yikey!

As for the automatic pencil eyeliner below,
known as Ever Liners...

Honestly, they leave lots of room for improvement,
I am disappointed in them.
The colour does not stay well,
it is hard to apply on your lids as the formula is too dry
causing one to drag and tug (which will give you wrinkles in time)
so I threw the one I bought away...
Yup, it was that painful!!!!!

Rating: Mascara + Base gets 4/5 Stars
Will I buy them again: SURE!
Ease of Use: Just twist, apply and DO NOT PUMP the ward stick

Rating: Eye Makeup Remover + Eyeliner gets Blah! 1.5/5 Stars
Will I buy them again: Never
Ease of Use: Oily and Painful respectively

Plus side:most of the items costs less than SGD$20 each
